The prayer of the rosary is a meditation of twenty main events in the life of Christ.
- The Joyful Mysteries are meditated each Monday and Saturday: The Annunciation, The Visitation, The Nativity of the Lord, The Presentation in the Temple, The Finding in the Temple.
- The Mysteries of Light are meditated on Thursday: The Baptism of the Lord, The Wedding at Cana, The Proclamation of the Kingdom, The Transfiguration, and The Institution of the Eucharist.
- The Sorrowful Mysteries are meditated each Tuesday and Friday: The Agony in the Garden, The Scourging at the Pillar, The Crowning with Thorns, The Carrying of the Cross, The Crucifixion.
- The Glorious Mysteries are meditated each Wednesday and Sunday: The Resurrection, The Ascension, The Descent of the Holy Spirit, The Assumption of Our Lady in Heaven, and The Coronation of Our Lady in Heaven.
