A Poui Tree in bloom, traditionally accepted as a signal for the approaching rainy season and an end to the dry season in Trinidad and Tobago, is known to bloom as early as late March or early April. With scorching heat caused by drought conditions making way for some much welcomed rain, the poui trees at the Queen's Park Savannah, Port-of-Spain, are in full bloom and this woman and child could not help but walk through the fallen poui flowers which have now carpeted the savannah's floor.
