Pope: "Love is the style of God and the believer"

"Love is the "style" of God and of believers, it is the behaviour of those who respond to the love of God, by laying down their lives as a gift of self to God and neighbour." This was Pope Benedicts message this morning before the Angelus prayer, commenting on St Pauls 'hymn of charity" in his First Letter to the Corinthians. He said the Apostle "shows the path of perfection," which consists in charity - agape - that is, in genuine love. Pope Benedict said that eventually, when we meet face to face with God, all other gifts will be less; the only one that will remain forever is charity, because God is love and we shall be like Him, in perfect communion with Him.
